2022 SDG Summit
Prosperity
Ensure prosperous and fulfilling lives in harmony with nature
Justin Cheng
Hey, I’m Justin, currently a junior at DBS and a speaker on the Prosperity panel! I currently help run two SDG initiatives, namely VIVA Forum Initiative HK, an inequality-focussed current affairs association from ~30 schools, featured on UNITE 2030, WEF and more. We’ll be launching Phase II quite soon, bridging the gap between Gen-Z and poverty-oriented organizations with podcasts, speaker events, and fundraisers. I’m also the VP of Community at the Luminate Network, an entrepreneurial network sponsored by Sun Life Financial and K11 Mall; we’ve had speakers from NASA and Expovital and we have a lot planned - check it out!
Sakshi Vasudev
I am Sakshi Vasudev, a 3rd year accounting student at the city University of Hong Kong. I started BamPads! in 2019 with no SDG in mind because I saw how periods affect girls with their education, health and the environment. With that in mind, I realised how closely it is linked to many SDG goals. It was a coincidence but BamPads! aims to ensure all women and girls get access to proper sanitation for menstrual management.
Branches of Hope
Diya Aswani
Hi! My name is Diya and I’m a senior at CDNIS. My SDG initiatives revolve around refugees and I have created several projects that I hope will bring sustainable change to their community. Over the last year, I have begun an initiative with the refugee organisation “Branches of Hope” to create, teach and lead an art class program for refugee children. Additionally, I have facilitated toy drives for the same organisation and am also the marketing executive for the refugee club “Cooking for a Cause” where I help to promote and plan events like food drives and symposiums.
Nicole Lee
Hello! My name is Nicole Lee, and I am the founder of TeensinAI Hong Kong, aiming to bridge the inequality gap and fuel SDG 5 and 10 in STEM sectors by implementing hackathons and events. As a proactive individual, I feel the obligation to empower overlooked stakeholders and give students an opportunity to create for the future. Previously, I was the youngest international lead organiser for the global GirlsinAI and AdaHack2021 campaigns. Featured on SCMP and UNWEF, we’ve had over 150 participants, 40 mentors and 6 local partners joining our event. TeensinAI creates a platform where students can be stimulated to grow and share a collective set of ideas, driving for a systemic impact for all our global issues.
